Recently, Nightwish, a Finnish symphonic power metal band released their 7th album, titled “Dark Passion Play”. I have known this band for several months but yet to listen to their songs. Until now.

I browse around youtube today and I discovered a video clip of Nightwish’s song, Amaranth. It’s included in the Dark Passion Play album and also available as a single disc. I clicked the play button out of merely curiosity. I haven’t heard any of the song this band have. Soon after, in 3 minutes and 15 seconds, I was captivated. This song is beautiful.

I don’t listen to much of metal bands, only Kamelot and Dream Theater, although the latter is more of a progressive rock band. This is the first Nightwish’s song I hear, and I must say, it’s impressive.

You have to hear it yourself to believe it. Very recommended. 5 out of 5.
