Just A List

Apr 3rd 2009

It’s been a while since the last time I wrote on my blog. It’s been a very long while, actually. Several months have passed without a single updates to my blog, save the appearances and whatnots which aren’t that noticeable. Granted, I update the design or core foundations of my blog more often than write on it. It’s a little bit contrary to the purpose of the blog itself, since on it, content is king and the rest are just complementaries.

But, well, it doesn’t matter much since it has happened, so let’s get on point of what I really want to say. For the last months since January 2009, a lot of things happened and while some are just passing fancy, some are really interesting. Changes in life, if I may say so. Of course, describing things in words is not my speciality, but I’ll try my best to draft the list in comprehensible sentences. The list is in no particular order.

  • I moved. As of January I live in Bandung, a place of leisury, culinary, and study for many people. It has been selected as the most crowded city in the world.
  • I have a new job. And what a pennyless job that is, at least for now. I am currently employed (self-employed, as you will discover later) by rakIT Consulting as, in fancy words, Director of Technical Affairs. In Layman’s Term, I’m the guy who’s mopping the floor in the morning, crunching numbers at noon, and still crunching numbers in the afternoon.
  • RakIT Consulting, mentioned above as my workplace, is actually a small company I founded together with my colleagues. Our company, as the name suggests, specializes in IT Consultancy services. We offer a wide range of services, from Web Development to IT Training. For more information, please visit us at rakitconsulting.com.
  • I’m attending school again. The details will not follow, suffice to say that after some thoughts, there is only one purpose in minds of many people attending universities: Degree. Without a degree, one can’t have decent job, or worse, decent view from people around. In this country, unfortunately, qualities are still measured by what-you-have’s rather than what-you-can-do’s. This area is vulnerable to fierce debates and I should end my part here lest I’ll be writing the next thousand words on a subject that’s likely to appeal to few people.
  • I have a new motorcycle, a big one, a 200cc behemoth that is. 200cc might be miniscule for people who live in countries where 500cc rides can be bought as an afterthought. In mine, however, the engine displacement figure is quite the luxury, and I am thankful for that.

I can’t think for anything else for now, and I don’t think I should, for I am writing this post from my ‘cubicle’ and while the atmosphere doesn’t put that many pressure on my mind, this is of course not the right time to ramble on something personal. Of course, exceptions can be made, this is my office, afterall.

Anyway, that’s all I can write of myself, and of things happened lately. May we meet again in a fairer and more appropriate circumstances.
